SENSES TUNNEL
Idea:
The Central–Mid-Levels escalator and walkway system in Hong Kong is the longest outdoor covered-escalator system in the world. The entire system covers over 800 metres and elevates over 135 metres from the bottom to the top. It was constructed in 1993 to provide a better commute by linking areas within the Central and Western District.
Our idea is to apply a new envelop to the walkway, the sense tunnel shelter, in order to frame the focus elements of our surroundings as to intensify the relationship of human kind with the objects. While we go up the Mid-Levels Escalator System, we can focus on different elements along to the site.
